Stacks Carmarthenshire, Glamorgan, Gower, Pembrokeshire and Powys

South West Wales is known for its variety of fantastic countryside, seemingly kept quiet from the rest of the world and unspoilt.

For those looking for a retirement or holiday home good value can be found in quite villages or coastal regions close to large uncrowded sandy beaches. In the mountain areas properties can be found with breathtaking views and some land to go with them. In the area covered there are the Cleddau, Teifi, Tywi and Loughor rivers, ideal for sea trout and salmon fishing. For those who like walking there are the Breacon Beacons, the Preseli and Cambrian Mountains all within easy reach of the M4 motorway.

Carmarthen Bay has seven miles of sandy beaches with Pendine Sands being famous for land speed records being set there in the past, and the area has numerous surfing beaches. Small unspoilt fishing villages can be found in Cardigan Bay with cottages having   sea views and good local restaurants.

The area is famous for it’s numerous castles, the most spectacular being Cerreg Cennen perched on cliff 325 feet above the Cennen River. Also there is the the Cathedral City of St Davids with the Cathedral, well known for its music, overlooking the ruins of the old Cathedral.

Thoughts on Moving to Wales

Listen to the whisper of the water

by the willow, Listen to the buzzing

of the ever busy bee.

Listen to the lowing of the cattle in

the meadow, Listen to the country

and relax along with me.

See the sweeping swallows

bringing promise of the Springtime,

See the modest primrose and the

violet so shy.

See the little calves the new born

lambs upon the hillside,

See the country, see the beauty, let

the world go by.

Come now, leave the city life, the

hassle and the stresses,

Here the days pass peacefully,

there’s time to stand and stare.

Watch the changing seasons, see

the earth don many dresses,

Here for city dwellers is the

answer to a prayer.
